Here to be Heard: The Story of the Slits tells the story of the young women pioneers of the mid-70’s Punk era from a female point of view.
Believing art to be dead, and life more interesting than art, The slits represented a strong alternative and possibility.
I filmed intermittently, whenever a super 8 camera could be borrowed during my 37 years “management” of The Slits. Footage and Still images that were gathered during 1980/81 in the Nevada Desert, Death Valley and Malibu USA together with stage shows in Italy, Berlin and London are included in the film.
